Coconut Tequila Cocktail

Coconut Tequila Cocktail

Recipe Overview
Prep Time: 5–7 minutes
Serves: 1
Skill Level: Easy–Medium

Ingredients

2 shots tequila (used Lalo — clean, smooth, and agave-forward)
1 oz triple sec (adds a subtle citrus lift)
1½ oz cream of coconut (Coco López), adjust to taste
Fresh lime juice, squeezed straight in (unstrained)
Ice

For the Glass & Garnish

Pomegranate arils (for color + pop)
Fresh lime wheel or twist
Optional: coconut flakes or a light dusting of powdered sugar

Instructions

Set the Vibe
Chill your coupe or martini glasses. This drink is rich and tropical, so cold glassware keeps everything crisp from the first sip to the last.

Build & Shake
Fill a shaker with ice. Add tequila, triple sec, cream of coconut, and squeeze fresh lime juice directly in — pulp and all.
Shake hard for a full 15–20 seconds. You’re looking for a creamy, well-emulsified texture that feels lush but still light on the palate.

Pour & Finish
No straining here. Pour everything straight into your chilled glass over fresh ice (or up if you prefer).
Garnish with pomegranate arils and a lime wheel. Finish with coconut flakes or powdered sugar if you’re feeling extra.

Notes on Sweetness

This cocktail is all about balance. Start with less cream of coconut and build up — the triple sec and lime keep things bright, but you’re in full control of how rich or playful it drinks.

Pro Tips

  • Fresh lime makes all the difference and keeps the coconut from feeling heavy.

  • Don’t be shy with the shake — texture is part of the experience.

  • Perfect for warm nights, holiday hosting, or when you want something that looks indulgent but drinks clean.
